About Rob Hockney

Rob Hockney has over twenty-five years experience in biotech and the Pharmaceutical Industry. Before founding Partnering Excellence he was Director of Alliance Management in AstraZeneca. Rob's key accountability was leadership of AstraZeneca's Global Alliance Management Support Office which he was responsible for establishing during 2007. The AMSO is a centralized office providing support, process and best practice tools and templates to AZ's global network of alliance managers. The Office supports and, with individual alliance managers, co-conducts the AZ alliance Health Check process and provides to executive management high-level metrics on the performance of the AZ portfolio of Major Alliances.

Rob has been in alliance management for the last eight years during which time he has managed alliances from both Discovery and Development, in the UK, Europe and North America. He is the principle author of AstraZeneca's Alliance Management Handbook. Rob's background is in biotech and Pharmaceutical R&D. Prior to his formal move into alliance management he was head of the Biotech Function in Zeneca; a Head of Dept. role with 100 staff.
